Sometimes, it’s necessary to dive into the darker corners of life, not because we enjoy the shadows, but because that’s where the truth tends to hide.
Writing isn’t always about sunshine and success stories. Sometimes it’s about sitting quietly with the parts of ourselves we’d rather ignore, the mistakes, the temptations, the doubts that creep in when no one’s looking. There’s something honest about facing those pieces head-on.
Whether it’s exploring the mind’s darker thoughts or diving deeper into life’s pleasures and consequences, those moments teach us who we really are. They remind us that we’re human, flawed, curious, and constantly learning where the edge is.
I don’t shy away from that in my writing. Life isn’t one-note, and I don’t believe stories should be either. There’s light, there’s dark, and there’s the strange space in between where most of us actually live.
If we don’t talk about the hard stuff, we’ll never appreciate the good when it finally comes around. So, here’s to exploring it all, the beautiful, the broken, and the brutally honest.
